Radon Measurement Operators Course (RMO)
- 2½ to 3 days (from
SRRTC training web site)
This training prepares participants to conduct competent radon
measurements in residential settings and to interpret results for
clients. It also prepares the student to sit for the national radon
proficiency certification exam. Some of the topics covered include:
- Basics of radon
- Physics of radon
- Health effects of radon
- Radon measurements
- Quality assurance/quality control
- Radon measurement devices and protocols
- Basic radon mitigation techniques
Typically home inspectors, realtors,
environmental consultants, public health officials and real estate
professionals attend the training. EPA and states encourage participants
to pass the measurement exam and apply for certification with either the
NEHA National Radon Proficiency Program (NRPP) or the National Radon
Safety Board (NRSB) certification programs. |

Inspecting the Mitigation System
During the Home Inspection - 1 day

This training is designed to
equip home inspectors on how to inspect an active radon mitigation
system during a typical home inspection. The course was developed in
cooperation with USEPA and the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI)
checklist. The training will provide classroom presentations and
fieldwork in a residential home to inspect an active mitigation system.
All home inspectors, realtors or health officials are recommended for
this training. This training has been approved for NRPP continuing
education credits and 2 MRCs with American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI). |

Measurement Training and Exam

Charlotte, NC -CLASSROOM - This is an ESA/NRSB/NEHA certified 2 day
Radon Measurement and Inspection course.
Each student will receive a complete 200 page manual and power point
